Coconut fibre is a product which is extracted from the outer shell of the coconut fruit i.e., coconut husk after removing short fibres and dust away by a traditional process. It is popular for rope and matting. It has high lignin content and thus low cellulose content, as a result of which it is resilient, strong and highly durable. Coconut fibre can also be used to make twine, doormats, brushes, garden articles, geo textiles, rugs, mattress, pith or peat, automobile upholsters, packaging, insulations and more.
